New reports of a bear in the village of Urengoy were not confirmed

The administration of the village of Urengoy checked the message about the appearance of a bear in the garages of the second and third neighborhoods. According to the results of the inspection of the territory, no traces of the presence of a wild animal were found, authorities said on their pages in social networks.

CCTV footage also did not confirm the presence of the bear in the area, and no such reports were received by EDS.

The administration urged not to distribute unverified videos and messages, so as not to create unnecessary anxiety among residents. All confirmed information will be promptly published in official sources.

Nevertheless, security measures were taken: police officers organized patrols of the territory, attracted hunting inspectors to work.

If there is reliable information about the possible location of the bear, it is necessary to report by a single number of emergency services or to the duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Purovsky, and not in social networks and group chats, the administration noted.

In early November, a bear wandered into the territory of Urengoy and attacked a man. The victim died from his injuries, investigators are checking.
