Head of the Strategic Planning Department of the National Tourism Agency Yulia Krasko in the BelTA project “Country Speaks” noted that the official statistics on tourist flow to the republic are formed by the National Statistical Committee for the year.
According to Belstat, the incoming tourist flow across the country has steadily increased over the past five years: if in 2021 it amounted to 3.3 million people, then in 2025 it reached 7.4 million.
According to Y. Krasko, for tracking operational data on communications, regional executive committees, regions. The basis of assessments is their independent surveys of business entities. According to such preliminary estimates, only collective accommodation facilities for the first half of the year took about 1.5 million people. And this is not the peak of the season, which falls at the end of summer. The number does not take into account those who stay with relatives, friends, rent apartments. And most of them, so the total number of guests is much higher.
The head of the strategic planning department reported a stable growth in the export of tourism services in the first two quarters. Russia remains the key and most stable market.
- Here we try not only to look at the whole country, but to go down into detail directly to the level of the regions in order to work out our marketing budgets and the feasibility of opening direct flights, Krasko added.
A positive trend is also visible in other CIS countries. In particular, in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, there is a high interest in Belarusian environmental and health tourism. China, India and Israel are also growing.
- In Israel, the results are still modest. However, direct flights have already been restored. We see a good load of flights and hope for good dynamics at the end of the year, the expert shared.
