The new season of the information and educational project “Youth Lecture” started in the capital’s universities on September 9. The central platform of the first meeting was the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio Electronics, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
The project is held every second Wednesday of the month in the open spaces of educational institutions - halls, atriums and other venues. This format allows us to abandon the traditional lecture environment and build a lively dialogue between students, representatives of authorities and public organizations.

First Secretary of the Minsk City Committee of the BRSM Alexey Pikus noted that the new season was a continuation of the project, which received a positive response from students.
- Children can ask any questions, talk about what interests them, get acquainted with the initiatives of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and participate in them. This year we are starting the Youth Lecture project with one of the most important areas – civic and patriotic education, said A. Picus.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the importance of National Unity Day, why it is important to preserve the country’s independence and what contribution young people can make to the development of Belarus. Students were also reminded that the executive branch is open to their initiatives and proposals. One of the examples of the implementation of youth ideas is the city project “Minsk Shift”. Applications for participation this year will continue until September 20.

- It is important for us to get feedback from young people, learn their proposals for the development of urban space, the creation of recreation areas and comfortable infrastructure. We also talk about what Belarus means for each young person and what contribution he is ready to make to its socio-economic development, said Andrey Strigelsky, Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

Last season, more than 15 thousand students of capital universities became participants of the Youth Lecture. This year, the project expands the audience: college students will join it. It is planned that the meetings will be held in all institutions of secondary special education of the capital.

Second-year student of the Faculty of Computer Systems and Networks of BSUIR Alexei Enuschenko notes that the informal environment helps young people to become more actively involved in the discussion.
- There is an opportunity to communicate directly with speakers, ask questions and exchange views. Young people are really interested in the topics discussed, because they concern everyone directly, the student said.

Thematic activities were organized for the participants of the first lecture: aquagrim and the action “Rodnae-people”. A tree of meanings was depicted at the BRSM stand, where the guys answered the question that Belarus was for them.
