Gold Mountains promised: details of the case about international call centers, one of which worked in Minsk

From 2017 to 2024, scammers made cold calls and offered citizens of different countries, including Belarus, high earnings on online investments. Details of the sensational case about international fraudulent call centers, one of which was located in Minsk, on the air of the program "Causes and Effect" on Radio-Minsk, said the official representative of the Investigative Committee Alexander Sukhodolsky.

The proposed Internet resources were fake. When transferring money to the recommended site, fraudsters stole funds, created the appearance of income, and when trying to withdraw profits, they stopped communicating.

The crime was committed by an international organized group with offices in Minsk, Moscow and other cities. In the materials of the case, more than 1,500 pseudonyms were used by the attackers. According to the investigation, the victims were citizens of Belarus, Russia and other countries.

The court issued a verdict: the leaders of the criminal community were imprisoned for a term of 6 to 11 years 6 months with a fine of 1,000 to 10,000 base units, the participants - from 3 years 3 months to 7 years 6 months with a fine of 600 to 4 000 BV.
