Alushta bypass is open: a new road will relieve the city center in the holiday season

In the Crimea, the movement of vehicles on a new road bypassing Alushta with a length of 7.8 kilometers was launched. The highway should unload the center of the resort city and reduce travel time to the southern coast of the peninsula. This was reported in his Telegram channel by the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksyonov.

Work on the facility began in April 2023. During this time, nine artificial structures were built here: a bridge over the Ulu-Uzen river, a viaduct, seven overpasses, as well as 40 water passage pipes and 12 retaining walls with a total length of 1.8 kilometers. All work was done ahead of schedule.

The new highway will increase the level of comfort of road traffic and reduce travel time to the southern coast of Crimea. In addition, the center of Alushta will be unloaded, which will help to eliminate congestion primarily during the holiday season.

The next stage will be the construction of a 16-kilometer section of the Perevalnoye-Exuberant road. The work is planned to be completed by 2030. Thus, almost the entire route, which residents and guests of the Crimea get to the South Bank, will be repaired and reconstructed.

Work on the Alushta bypass began in April 2023, although earlier it was reported that construction began in December 2023. A four-lane highway with a length of 7.8 kilometers connects the village of Izobilne with the exit from Alushta towards Yalta.

The contractor was VAD, and the cost of the project was estimated at 22.4 billion rubles. During the work, the technical category of the road was increased from II to IB.

By October 2026, the facility was more than 98% complete. Asphalt concrete pavement was laid on the highway, two multi-level interchanges, a bridge over the Ulu-Uzen river, a 35-meter viaduct, seven overpasses and about 1.4 kilometers of retaining walls were erected. The new road should bring transit transport from the center of Alushta and reduce the load on city streets in the holiday season.

Completion of the construction of the section of the Simferopol-Yalta highway bypassing Alushta was originally expected in November 2026, but the work was ahead of schedule. In March 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed plans to complete the bypass of Alushta by the end of 2026.
