Public activists visited two colonies of the Ulyanovsk region: what ended the inspection

In correctional colonies No. 2 and No. 9 of the Ulyanovsk region, the conditions of detention of prisoners were checked. Representatives of the Public Supervisory Commission examined the premises of institutions, assessed the organization of food, medical care and employment. As a result of the visit, violations requiring comments from the inspectors were not revealed.

During the visit to the colonies, social activists visited residential detachments, canteens and production facilities. The inspectors got acquainted with the conditions of daily life of the convicts and the organization of the work of institutions.

Special attention was paid to the availability of medical care, the quality of catering and the possibility of attracting prisoners to work. These questions have become one of the main areas of verification.

After the roundabout, representatives of the commission took part in meetings of the administrative commissions of correctional institutions. In addition, they held personal receptions of the convicts, giving them the opportunity to address directly to public observers.

According to the regional Federal Penitentiary Service, as a result of a visit to both colonies, no comments were received from members of the Public Supervisory Commission.
