October St. Petersburgers spend with headaches due to a magnetic storm
In late October and early November, residents of St. Petersburg are waiting for noticeable geomagnetic disturbances. The peak of activity will be on October 31 and November 1, when the Earth’s magnetosphere will go into an excited state. This is evidenced by the forecast of the laboratory of solar astronomy IKI and ISZF.
The first wave of indignation hits the city today. According to the graph, in the evening the perturbation index will rise to 4 points, which corresponds to the excited magnetosphere. The same situation will continue at night and early morning on October 26.
A more serious test is expected at the end of the month. On October 31, a magnetic storm of the G1 level is predicted, that is, a weak storm, with an index of perturbations reaching 5. Next, on November 1, the Earth’s magnetosphere will remain excited with an index of about 4 points.
During such periods, meteorologically dependent Petersburgers often have headaches, jumps in blood pressure and general weakness. Doctors advise these days to avoid heavy physical exertion, drink more water and carefully monitor your health. The next geomagnetic disturbances are only expected closer to mid-November.
