Oleg Melnichenko congratulated Penza transport workers on the holiday

Today, the professional holiday is celebrated by employees of road and urban passenger transport.

The head of the region Oleg Melnichenko noted that transport workers go to work in any weather, on weekdays and holidays. They connect cities and villages, shorten distances and show reliability and responsibility on the way. According to Oleg Melnichenko, the safety of all road users primarily depends on the person behind the wheel.

The Governor stressed that today the public transport system is actively developing in the Penza region. The trolleybus park was completely renovated, it was replenished with 94 trolleybuses. New buses are being purchased, most of them running on gas engine fuel. This year alone, 109 units will arrive, of which 68 have already entered the routes.

Measures to update urban public transport proved timely and justified. In the next two years, it is planned to purchase about 280 units of new transport, including for inter-municipal routes. The region will continue to bring the road in Penza and districts of the region to the regulatory state. This will create better working conditions for drivers.

Oleg Melnichenko thanked all employees and veterans of the automotive industry for their conscientious work. He wished all those engaged in the industry well-being, success, support of relatives and friends, all the best.
