Omsk driver arrested for 7 days due to unpaid fines

In Omsk, a 20-year-old driver received a serious penalty due to unpaid fines. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate stopped the VAZ car during a routine patrol and when checking documents found out that the young man did not repay the fines in due time.

Administrative protocols were drawn up for the motorist. The magistrate’s court heard cases under 11 rulings and sentenced the driver to seven days of arrest and 100 hours of compulsory work.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded that for late payment of fines, there is a separate liability under Article 20.25 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation - the offender can be imposed an additional double fine, mandatory work or administrative arrest. The new penalty does not exempt the driver from the need to repay the original fines.
