Orlovchanka fined for illegally received “Chernobyl” payments

In the Orel region, the Kromsky district court sentenced a local resident. She fraudulently received social benefits as living in a zone with preferential status due to the Chernobyl disaster.

According to the press service of the court, Orlovka received benefits for herself and children from the Pension Fund, as well as compensation from the social protection authorities. However, in May 2016, she and her children moved to an area that does not belong to the Chernobyl zone.

By law, she was obliged to report the move, as she lost the right to payments. But the woman hid this fact and continued to illegally receive money for several years.

In court, she fully admitted her guilt, repented and partially compensated for the damage. She was sentenced to a fine of 110 thousand rubles. In addition, the attacker was obliged to return to the state illegally received money - more than 202 thousand rubles.
