Orlovets fined 400,000 for selling illegal tobacco

In the Orel region, the Kromsky district court sentenced a 37-year-old resident of Trosnyansky district for the possession and transportation of unmarked cigarettes.

According to the press service of the Prosecutor’s office, in February of this year, the man bought for resale a large batch of tobacco products without mandatory excise stamps. All goods worth more than 1 million rubles were seized by police.

The court found the smuggler guilty and sentenced to a fine of 400 thousand rubles. In addition, the court confiscated the car of the offender, which transported illegal cigarettes – now the car belongs to the state.
