Orlovets will pay more than 67 thousand rubles for an accident on an electric scooter

In the Orel region in Mtsensk, the driver of an electric scooter was ordered to compensate for the damage caused to the owner of the EXEED VX car. The incident occurred in June last year.

According to the press service of the Mtsensky court, the accident occurred due to the fact that the scooter violated traffic rules. At the scene of the incident, traffic police officers drew up a protocol, and the culprit was brought to administrative responsibility.

The damaged vehicle was insured by CASCO. The insurance company paid the owner of the car 67 thousand rubles for repairs, and then appealed to the court to recover this amount from the culprit of the accident.

During the trial, an electric scooter due to its technical characteristics was recognized as a source of increased danger, since a person cannot control it completely. And since two “sources of danger” – a car and a scooter – collided, the responsibility is borne by the one whose fault in violating traffic rules has been proven.

In the end, the court sided with the insurance company. Now a resident of Mtsensk must pay 67 thousand rubles, as well as cover court costs and state duty. In addition, the amount of debt will be charged interest at the key rate of the Central Bank until it is fully paid. The court decision has not yet entered into force and can be appealed.
