In Argentina, 37-year-old Pablo Esequiel Gomez was detained on suspicion of murdering 24-year-old Camila Belen Iglesias. The remains of a woman who went missing in early October were found in a fridge in the house where she lived with a man. The arrest and circumstances of the case are reported by the British newspaper Need to Know.
Iglesias stopped communicating on October 2. A few days later, her family contacted the police. On October 16, police arrived at the woman’s place of residence and found her remains inside the refrigerator.
According to the publication, the remains were filled with hydrated lime. This substance is able to slow the decomposition of tissues and reduce the spread of odor.
During the investigation, suspicion fell on Gomez. According to the sister of the deceased, shortly before the discovery of the remains, the man contacted her and claimed that on October 5 he had quarreled with Camila. According to him, after the conflict, the woman left the house and stopped responding to messages.
Relatives of Gomez reported that after the incident he fled. Before fleeing, the man confessed to them that he was seriously guilty, and also told them where the remains of Iglesias are.
Gomez was arrested on October 19. During his arrest, he offered no resistance.
The sister of the deceased characterized the man as jealous and insecure. According to her, he did not want other people to come to their homes and prevented Camila from communicating with her children.
Iglesias and Gomez were in a relationship for about a year. The woman has two children from a previous relationship.
