Sentenced by a man who stole a child’s phone

The court in Solikamsk announced the sentence of a previously convicted local resident born in 1978. The man was found guilty of theft, according to the GU Interior Ministry for the Perm Territory.

In the evening in March, a minor Solikamsk left a smartphone worth 15 thousand rubles on a bench near the house. The next morning he remembered the gadget and, not finding it at home, hurried to the street. After unsuccessful searches and attempts to call the missing phone, the mother of the child asked the police for help.

Law enforcement officers found out that a 48-year-old man who lived next door to the victims was involved in the theft of the device.

It is established that early in the morning the defendant found a gadget near the entrance. The smartphone was in excellent condition and without damage. Solikamets did not try to find the owner of the device, did not address the find to the police, but simply decided to keep the smartphone for himself. He asked the service for help in updating the settings and left the gadget there for a few days.

The attacker did not have time to use someone else's phone. The police seized the stolen device from the workshop and returned it to the victim.

The court sentenced the offender to 300 hours of compulsory labor.
