From Smoking in the Entrance to Domestic Violence: What Issues Minskers Address

What questions do residents come to the reception? This was told by the district police inspector of the Lenin police Department of Minsk Nazar Potapchik, writes sb.by.

- One of the residents of the district told about neighbors who smoke on the landing and do not respond to comments. I explained that there is administrative liability for such actions: depending on the circumstances, violators may face a warning or a fine. For repeated drinking of alcoholic beverages, the penalty may be more stringent - up to administrative arrest.

Another woman asked for help because of her husband’s aggressive behavior. According to her, the man was constantly jealous of his wife, controlled her communication. During one of the fights, he knocked the phone out of her hands, leaving a bruise. The precinct asked the victim to write a statement and explained what measures can be taken against the aggressor. In particular, he may be issued a protective order that temporarily isolates the offender from his family.

The third applicant described her son’s ex-wife, who had been living with her and her son for more than six years after the divorce. According to the pensioner, the former daughter-in-law has no permanent job and has recently abused alcohol. The applicant is concerned that this situation negatively affects the grandson. The precinct accepted the application, contacted the former daughter-in-law and invited her to an interview at a public police station.
