From support to inspiration: how the state and private initiatives promote the image of a large family in Belarus
The project “Belarus with many children” unites parents across the country and popularizes parenthood with many children.
The well-being of parents with many children is among the state priorities of the country. Senators continue to support them.
School backpacks, office and clothes for the new school year. In a large family, the owner of the order of Mother Anna Gorbakova raises five children. Getting started is part of a massive movement. The Belarus with Many Children project unites parents across the country, promoting traditional family values.
Dmitry Baskov, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development: As a father of many children, I understand well and know how emotionally and financially costly this is, although you try to foresee everything in advance. But, then the notebooks are not enough, then an additional tutorial will be needed. That shift is needed. In the pre-school period, our public associations conduct various actions in support of children in a socially dangerous situation, with disabilities, and low-income families. Large families, children of migrants and refugees”.
Anna Gorbakova, author of the Belarus with Many Children initiative: We considered it important to unite according to our interests. And we have one interest - to raise in love and happiness of our children. We know firsthand all the difficulties and nuances of raising children. And this is our initiative. Popularization of large families, large motherhood, parenthood”.
According to sociologists, almost 45% of Belarusians are ready to become parents with many children under certain conditions. The task of the state and private initiatives is to inspire young people to build strong alliances.
