In conditions when the whole world is rapidly developing technologies, means of intelligence and electronic warfare, the issue of modernization of the communication system is the most urgent in ensuring the military security of the country. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said this during a meeting with the military at the Obuz-Lesnovsky combined arms training ground, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
- Today, the operational exchange of data, the security of channels and the speed of decision-making directly determine the strategic advantage on the battlefield, guarantee the accuracy of combat missions and the safety of all personnel. At a time when the whole world is rapidly developing information technology, intelligence, electronic warfare and suppression, lagging behind in this matter is like death.
That is why in the development of the Armed Forces and the military organization of the state, much attention is paid to the modernization of the communication system.
Ah. Alexander Lukashenko noted that one of the effective elements is the implementation of operational training activities, within the framework of which operational-special exercises of the communications forces of the Armed Forces are conducted.
Earlier, Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin reported to the President that before that the troops could not even dream about the system and means of communication that are now. A few years ago, the military-industrial complex, taking into account the experience of modern conflicts, was tasked with equipping the army with the latest means of communication.
- Let’s see how this task is accomplished. Everything must be fair and objective, the Belarusian leader said.

Speaking about the importance of this sphere, Alexander Lukashenko stressed that there can be no war – defense, offensive – without reliable communication and command of troops.
You know the foreign policy agenda. You see aggressive rhetoric against Belarus. Intelligence against Belarus is conducted quite openly, almost insolently: we periodically record various provocations and violations of airspace, the Head of State said. - But that's not the point. The main thing is that our neighbors are spending billions of dollars on arming their military. Insolent. Not only exercises near the border, but also the creation of new units, armies, which are deployed on the border of Belarus. What is this? For us military people, everything is very clear. We must therefore, as I once said openly and honestly, prepare for war in order to avoid it. We should always be ready for an adequate response if something happens.
The President recalled the experience of modern armed conflicts, where the most important role is assigned to the management of troops. According to him, if there is no way to control troops, then such troops are not needed. The outcome of a conflict depends on whether the system can withstand strikes and whether commanders and leaders at all levels control the battle and the system as a whole.
The president cited a recent example in the Middle East and Iran.
- Withstood the impact of thousands of missiles and bombs. Billions (100 billion dollars is called a figure, I think much more) The United States has spent time trying to resolve the issue in its favor. But there was no result. The management system has demonstrated resilience, as far as possible, has not stopped working. And management was ensured, Alexander Lukashenko said.

As reported at the meeting, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of Defense Pavel Muraveyko, in the period from 7 to 11 September, an operational-special exercise of the communications forces of the Armed Forces is held. The purpose of the exercise is to develop options for ensuring sustainable management of the military organization of the state using new techniques and methods of organizing communications, based on the experience of modern conflicts.
- Good for planning this. Verification of not only combat units, but communication systems. Because that's what matters. Management in any conflict and even in peacetime should be ensured, the Belarusian leader stressed.
