Illegal sheep caught in Voronezh region
Since the animals were not registered with the veterinary service, after returning to the place of loading, a full range of quarantine measures will be carried out for them

Employees of the traffic police and Rosselkhoznadzor stopped the car, which transported cloven-hoofed with violations. Some sheep were placed in a trailer, others in the trunk of a car. During the inspection, it turned out that there were no accompanying documents for livestock, and there were no tags on the animals’ ears. This means that it is impossible to confirm their health and the presence of vaccinations.
According to the driver, the sheep were purchased in the Kalacheevsky district for personal needs, and the destination was the Tambov region. If this information is confirmed, claims will arise against the seller. Since the animals were not registered with the veterinary service, after returning to the place of loading, a full range of quarantine measures will be carried out for them.
According to Natalia Chernyshova, Deputy Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Department for the Voronezh, Belgorod and Lipetsk regions, such cases are most often recorded during the transit of livestock through the Voronezh region, and Moscow usually becomes the final point. Perhaps it has something to do with national holidays. In autumn, the number of such violations is also traditionally increasing.
Now inspectors of the department, together with regional veterinarians and traffic police are on duty at 10 posts. By early October, they had checked more than 2,200 vehicles and found violations in nearly 30 cases - more than in the same period of 2025, although there were fewer posts in the region then.
According to the Agency, since January, most often through the region tried to smuggle illegal sheep — detained more than 730 heads. In the second place in popularity were birds. In addition, almost 80 cows were returned.
