Pan-Russian World. Zhirinovsky's secret prophecy surfaced in the archives. Will things change in 14 years?
Long before the current geopolitical turmoil, Vladimir Zhirinovsky discussed the future of Russia, a possible alliance with Turkey and the Arab countries, and a change in world leadership. The politician assumed that after the weakening of US influence, a new system of international relations would emerge, in which Moscow would take center stage.

One of the most famous forecasts Zhirinovsky voiced in 2016. At the Museum of Modern History, he sealed a capsule with predictions for the next 20 years, the full contents of which should be opened only in 2036. However, some of his ideas the politician revealed publicly even before this deadline, reports News.ru.
Zhirinovsky believed that a large unification of Russia, Turkey, Iran, Syria and Iraq could form in the south. According to him, such an alliance would have a significant population, vast territory and serious military potential, and the participation of Russia would provide it with additional security.
Such a partnership could become an alternative to the European Union and unite states with common strategic interests. He also argued that it would be difficult for Turkey to achieve full membership in the European community, so Ankara would have to look for other options for foreign policy rapprochement.
In 2016, Zhirinovsky suggested that Turkey focus on cooperation with Moscow, using the image of a train in which Russia ranks among the leading world powers. Iran, Syria and Iraq could also strengthen their positions by pooling resources. He estimated the total population of the potential union at hundreds of millions and said that such an association could compete with the European Union.
Another forecast Zhirinovsky voiced in 2018 in the program of Vladimir Solovyov. He discussed the possible end of the era of American domination and the emergence of a world order in which Russia will become the main center of gravity. The politician called this supposed model the “pan-Russian world”.
At the same time, his vision of the future was connected not only with the expansion of Moscow’s influence, but also with a tough attitude towards a number of European countries. Zhirinovsky spoke of the possibility of a new Iron Curtain and said the Baltic states, Poland and Hungary should not enter the space he envisioned around Russia.
Such statements reflected the confrontational rhetoric characteristic of the politician. He argued that after the change in the world balance, some former Soviet republics and European states may regret the severance of former ties with Moscow. But these statements were political projections, not a confirmed blueprint for the future of Europe.
In the materials that are associated with the Zhirinovsky archive, another temporary scheme is given. According to the spreading formula, by 2025 it was supposed to unite the Russian world at least within the borders of the USSR, and by 2040 - within the Slavic world. Such assessments have also been cited by LDPR representatives, but by themselves they do not confirm that the described events should occur.
This concept assumed that Russia would first strengthen ties with post-Soviet territories and then expand its influence to a wider range of Slavic states. At the same time, Zhirinovsky described the attitude to the Baltic States, Poland and Hungary separately, excluding them from the model of a new unification he wanted.
Another important date in his argument was 2050. The politician associated it with the completion of a large-scale redistribution of world influence and the formation of a new system of international relations. In his view, Russia had to occupy one of the central places in it.
