Popes can too: almost 2.4 thousand Kuzbassians went on decree

While stereotypes say that the place of a man only at the machine or in the office, Kuzbass fathers confidently destroy them. For the holiday – Father’s Day, which is celebrated on the third Sunday of October – the Social Fund of Russia in the Kemerovo region revealed interesting figures. It turns out that since the beginning of 2026, 2,397 men in the region are officially on leave to care for a child under the age of one and a half. For comparison, mothers in the decree for the same time counted 7,603.

And this is not just “sitting with the baby”, but quite a profitable event. A working father can apply for a benefit for himself, and it will amount to 40% of his average earnings for the previous two years. Thanks to the district coefficient in Kuzbass, the amounts are impressive: a minimum of 13,870.53 rubles, and a maximum of as much as 83,021.18 rubles per month! If twins or triplets were born in the family, money is paid for each baby, the main thing is that the total amount does not exceed 100% of the average earnings.

Bonus for the far-sighted: time in the decree is counted in the insurance experience and replenishes the piggy bank of pension points. For a full year of care for the first child, 1.8 coefficients are given, for the second - 3.6, and for the third and subsequent - 5.4.

How do you do that? It's as simple as possible. Dad needs to write a statement to his employer. He will transfer the data to the Social Fund within three days, and the SFR will appoint payments within 10 working days. So caring for a child is not only noble, but also beneficial.
