Park with locations for recreation intend to open in Skidel on the initiative of citizens

The park with recreational locations with a total area of over 3 thousand square meters. m is being equipped in the satellite city of Grodno Skidele within the framework of the civil initiative project. This was told in the Grodno Regional Association of Local Councils of Deputies, BelTA writes.

The project became one of the winners of the competition, which is held by the Association under the auspices of the regional Council of Deputies and received budget co-financing.

As the chairman of the Skidel City Council of Deputies Natalia Schwartz said, the idea to create a new public space was made by Skidel residents themselves during a meeting at one of the enterprises. Skidel is a green city in general, but it was in this microdistrict of high-rise buildings, where about 3 thousand people live, such a place of rest was not enough. Nearby there is a school and a kindergarten, she said.

The project was widely supported by the citizens. A lot of people here did on Saturdays, which went through the warm season. With the beginning of the school year, schoolchildren are taking part in the common cause. As a result, lindens, maples, lilacs, jasmine were planted on an area of about 3 thousand square meters, gravel paths were equipped.

“The whole world has justifiably decided that if there is a green zone, there is a need for recreational locations. Therefore, a sports and children's playground is planned. The accent will be a glowing bench, which will look especially spectacular in the evenings. For security, a video surveillance system has already been installed, the interlocutor shared.

The process of purchasing the necessary equipment is underway. After its installation this year, the park will be ready to receive tourists.

In the Grodno region, the implementation of projects of civil initiatives that became the winners of the competition in 2026 is coming to completion. They are implemented in Ostrovets, Iviev, Novogrudok, Korelich, Dyatlovsk, Volkovysk, Shchuchinsky, Berestovitsky, Grodno districts and in Grodno. Almost half a million rubles from the regional and republican budgets have already been allocated for their implementation, the funds of the initiators and interested parties amount to more than 100 thousand rubles. In general, more than 2 thousand citizens participate in the region, said Elena Antonova, chairman of the regional association of local councils of deputies of Grodno region.

By the end of the year, the clip of civil initiatives will be replenished with a musical platform in the agro-town of Subbotniki in the Ivievsky district, landscaped recreation areas on the Yanovskoye reservoir near Ostrovets, a dog walking area in Shchuchin, an ecological trail in the Grodno forest park Rumlevo, a tourist location on Zamkova Hill in Novogrudok. Location for recreation will be arranged in the agro-town of Lakes Grodno district, a sports ground - in the urban village of Mir, parks and squares in the agrogrogrodges of Krutilovichi of the Dyatlovsk district, Big Eismonty of the Berestovitsky district and in the urban village of Krasnoselsky of the Volkovysk district.
