Pensioners sued compensation for lack of water in the Kirov region

The reason for the supervision measures was serious interruptions in the resource supply in the village of Karavannoye, where people were left without vital services for a long time due to a malfunction of the well.

During the investigation, it turned out that throughout the first half of 2026, centralized water supply to local residents was not actually conducted.

At the same time, the responsible services at the time of the accident were unable to properly establish an alternative supply of drinking water to the population through regular delivery.

Such systematic failures violate the basic rights of citizens to receive quality utilities and pose a direct threat to sanitary and epidemiological well-being.

In connection with the violations revealed, the prosecutor sent an official submission to the head of the local administration.

After the intervention of the Ministry, municipal authorities together with MUE "Kommunalshchik" carried out the necessary repairs and restored the water supply to the houses of villagers.

The supervisory authority paid special attention to the social protection of the elderly. In the homes of 7 pensioners, a drop in water supply parameters below the established standards was recorded.

Taking into account the advanced age, state of health and the inability of citizens to personally defend their interests in court, the prosecutor's office filed lawsuits demanding compensation for moral suffering caused to them.

The court found the position of the prosecutor’s office fully justified and ordered to pay in favor of each of the applicants 15,000 rubles.

The actual transfer of funds to citizens after the entry into force of decisions is under the strict control of the supervisory authority.
