Penza for the first time hosts the Tourist rally of students of the Union State

Participants of the Tourist Meeting of Students of the Union State arrived in Penza. The international event is held for the first time in the regional center. It will unite 37 teams from Russia and Belarus. The competition will last until October 19.

According to the press service of the Ministry of the Penza region, a solemn meeting of delegations took place at the Penza-1 railway station. According to tradition, the guests were greeted with bread and salt, which were presented to representatives of Belarus and Russia Vladimir Polishchuk and Julia Vyatkina. Participants wished successful performances, good weather and victories.

As Oksana Milaeva, acting Deputy Minister of Education of the Penza region, noted, over the 19 years of its existence, the gathering has become a platform for the development of youth tourism, strengthening cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries.

“We tried to create all the conditions so that the guys could not only show sports skills at the Meridian camp, but also get acquainted with the rich history of the Sursky Territory,” she stressed.

The Penza region at the competition will be represented by the national team of the region. Its participants seriously prepared for the upcoming tests and expect to show high results.

“A lot of emotions now, of course, I would like to give my all. We trained for 2-3 hours every day. We are configured only to win, shared the member of the Penza team Anastasia Shchemleva.

After the meeting at the station, the delegations went to the Meridian sports and recreation camp. The work of the commission on admission of participants, a meeting of team representatives and the first trainings are planned there.

The grand opening of the meeting will take place in the evening of October 14 in the Penza Regional Philharmonic.

The competition will be attended by 37 teams – winners and prize-winners of sports tourism and orienteering competitions from Russia and Belarus.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Education of Russia and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus. Direct holding of the meeting is provided by the Center for Comprehensive Development of Children “Progress”, the National Center for Additional Education of Children and Youth of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Multifunctional Tourist and Sports Center named after Tatiana Tarasovna Martynenko.
