Before Halloween scammers began selling fake tickets and costumes
On the eve of Halloween scammers use the interest of Russians to thematic parties and holiday shopping

On the eve of Halloween, scammers are taking advantage of Russians’ interest in themed parties and holiday shopping. They create fake online stores, sell tickets to non-existent events and offer fake gifts in online games.
One of the ways of fraud is associated with the sale of costumes, makeup and holiday accessories. The buyer finds an attractive offer, pays for the order and enters bank card details on a fake website. As a result, the goods do not come, and the money is left to the intruders.
A similar scheme is used when renting out costumes. Scammers place ads, ask to transfer bail, and then cease to respond to messages.
Another trick concerns tickets to themed concerts and parties. Fraudsters offer places at events that don’t really exist. To create trust, ads indicate the names of real establishments and rush buyers with payment, creating the appearance of a limited offer.
Separate risks are schemes designed for children. In online games, attackers promise rare holiday gifts, and in return ask to use the phone of parents, report a code from SMS or install an application. Criminals are trying to access adult banking services.
Parents may also receive reports of allegedly won gifts from well-known online stores. To receive the prize, they offer to pay for delivery via the link leading to a fake page.
The lawyer warns that when buying holiday goods and tickets, it is important to check sellers and not transfer money through dubious links. Particular caution should be given to offers requiring immediate payment or transfer of confirmation codes.
