Sand-salt mixture and round-the-clock control: how Minsk roads will be treated in winter

With the onset of frosts, road safety comes to the fore. About the rules of treatment of streets with reagents in the program "People's GOST" on the ONT channel said the head of the Department "Center" GPO "Gorremavtodor of the Mingorispolkom" Ruslan Yasyuchenya. In Minsk, for these purposes, tested formulations are used that fully comply with Belarusian standards.

Ruslan Yasyuchenya: The city of Minsk uses deicing materials that meet the standards of the Republic of Belarus. As a rule, these are two materials - sand-salt mixtures and technical salt, if in simple words. Application is regulated by technical acts. Depending on the weather conditions, the type of precipitation, the temperature regime, one or another norm for the use of deicing materials is applied.”.

Snow removal and distribution of mixtures are carried out around the clock. Appointed duty specialists make detours of the city and make operational decisions on the spot. Moreover, when predicting frost or snowfall, the roadway is processed in advance.

The specialist himself, being a motorist, appealed to road users with an important recommendation for safe driving in the autumn-winter period:

Ruslan Yasyuchenya: I am a driver myself and I often walk, regardless of the season. I would recommend to be extremely careful on the roadway behind the wheel, or making a walk on the sidewalks. And, of course, drivers adhere to the requirements – to change winter tires.”.
