Petrozavodsk summed up the results of collecting tourist tax for three quarters

In Petrozavodsk, 118 accommodation facilities are listed in the register of tourist industry facilities. We are talking about organizations and individual entrepreneurs that work officially and pay tourist tax to the city budget.

According to Natalia Ivanycheva, head of the Department of Economics and Investment Policy, for the nine months of this year, the city budget received about 18 million rubles. These funds have already been allocated for urban improvement.

For comparison: at the end of last year, the treasury was replenished by 27.7 million rubles.

According to statistics of the Ministry of Finance of Karelia, Petrozavodsk holds the leadership in fees in the region. For eight months, the republican budget received 60.4 million rubles, while a significant part of the amount fell on the capital of Karelia. The three leaders also included Sortavala (15.2 million rubles) and Kondopoga (9.2 million rubles).

Recall that the tourist fee is included in the cost of accommodation in hotels, glampings and recreation centers. The rate is determined by local authorities, based on federal standards: in 2025 it is limited to 1% of the room price (minimum 100 rubles per day), and in 2026 the limit will increase to 2%. All collected funds remain at the disposal of municipalities and are spent on the development of urban infrastructure.
