Preparation for the 300th anniversary: the rector of the Smolensk seminary discussed with the government of the region plans for anniversary celebrations

On October 23, in the building of the Government of the Smolensk region, a working meeting of the rector of the Smolensk Orthodox Theological Seminary, Priest Dimitri Gamilovsky, with Deputy Chairman of the Government of the region Dina Khnycheva was held. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Smolensk region Ekaterina Mikhalkova.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the scientific, educational and publishing activities of the seminary. The rector, Father Dimitri, presented the authorities with the book editions of the theological school that have been published over the past three months.

The key topic of the conversation was preparations for the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Smolensk Orthodox Theological Seminary. The participants agreed to organize an organizing committee for the anniversary and discussed the program of the upcoming celebrations. In addition, issues of implementation of the first stage of the cultural and educational project “Pokrovskaya Krucha” were considered.

The meeting was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, becoming an important step in the development of interaction between the theological school and the Government of the region.
