On the City Day, Minsk hosts the International Competition “Strongest Fire Rescuer” for the tenth time. At the site at the main entrance to the Victory Park gathered the strongest firefighters from all regions of Belarus, as well as guests from Vietnam, Serbia and St. Petersburg. 12 teams and more than 100 participants overcome five difficult stages: climbing the tower with a 25-pound roller, moving a 72-pound beam, extinguishing a conditional fire and saving an 80-pound dummy.

The competitions are held with the support of the Presidential Sports Club, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Minsk City Executive Committee and the Belarusian Federation of Fire and Rescue Sports.

- It has become a good tradition to hold competitions on the City Day, in which representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations participate - people brave, brave, strong, who every day stands guard over security, the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev addressed the audience. Firefighters-rescuers with their selfless service make the life of citizens calm. Every resident of Minsk can be sure that in any difficult situation, you will always be there promptly, will do everything to ensure the safety of people.

According to the head of the city, it is very important that representatives of friendly states are present at such competitions, share their experience and celebrate the birthday of the capital together with Minsk residents.

“The Belarusian rescuer always wants to have time to provide assistance to people who need it, to have time to be useful,” said Vadim Sinyavsky, Minister of Emergency Situations of Belarus. On City Day, we have sworn in 159 young boys and girls who will begin tomorrow to develop the profession of a rescuer-firefighter, and four years later will become officers and take up service in emergency agencies and units.

At the start of the competition came 12 teams, which is more than 100 participants. Competitions are held in the categories "Individual races", as well as "Tandem", "Tandem mix" and "Team relay". Mostly men participate in this sport, but perform really complex exercises along with the strong half and girls.

On the way to success, you need to overcome five stages for a while. One of the most difficult - climbing in full ammunition to the fourth floor of the tower, taking with him a sleeve roller weighing about 25 kg. Already at the top, due to the strength of the hands, you need to raise the same heavy skating up, and then go down, without missing a single step. All movements are closely watched by judges. After that, the sledgehammer must move a 72-pound beam and then run a snake among the fire extinguishers. Having already picked up a fire hose filled with water, the participants pass through the gate and put out the conditional fire with a stream of water. The final test is the rescue of a conditional victim. To do this, you need to drag a dummy weighing 80 kg to the finish line, which is quite difficult even for the most prepared person. Especially a girl.

“The race, as you can see, is not easy for girls,” commented Tamara Klemantovich, who has been working in the Moscow ROCHS dispatcher for two and a half years. 2.56 minutes is a good result, but I’m not very happy with them. The hardest part for me was climbing the tower. By the way, this is my third performance in Minsk at such competitions.

Minsk Ilya Kasperov was serious about winning and in the end showed a very good result - 1.13 minutes. As the host noted, in such a short time and coffee can not be cooked. And here there were so many obstacles and obstacles that had to be overcome, how much effort and will was applied!
