You can sign documents using a smartphone: the NCEU is testing a cloud EDS

Electronic digital signature (EDS) in the future can be used on smartphones without the mandatory use of USB media. The technology is currently being tested in collaboration with interested organizations. This was told to journalists on October 21 by the head of the republican certifying center of the National Center for Electronic Services Vladimir Basko, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

Cloud electronic digital signature will be an additional way to use EDS along with traditional carriers of key information. It will allow you to use an electronic signature using a mobile device and simplify the work with electronic documents.

- Cloud EDS will allow you to use electronic digital signature not only with the help of a classic USB-carrier. To do this, you can use a mobile phone with a specialized application for Android and iOS operating systems, Basko explained. At the moment, the technology is being tested and tested jointly with interested organizations.

For the first time, it will be possible to obtain an electronic digital signature at any point of the provision of relevant services. At the same time, the citizen will need to undergo full-time identification to confirm the identity and exclude the possibility of obtaining a signature by an unauthorized person.

If a person already has an EDS tool, for example, on a physical medium or in the form of a mobile electronic signature, they plan to provide him with the opportunity to issue a cloud EDS remotely through the Single Electronic Services Portal.

Another area of work of the National Center for Electronic Services is simplification of the procedure for renewal of electronic digital signature certificates.

- Now it is necessary separately, with the help of special software installed on the computer, to form a request, develop a key, save a file, and then import it to the portal. In the future, the process will be greatly simplified. After pressing the appropriate button in the personal account, a specialized application will automatically launch. It will form a key and a request, after which it will independently transfer the necessary data to the personal account and to the portal for further provision of the service, the expert said.

By the end of the year, they also plan to implement the possibility of remote issuance of attribute certificates. They confirm the authority of certain persons to sign documents and represent the interests of organizations.

Also, the work on certification of the new version of the client application for working with the ID card is being completed. It will allow you to check the electronic digital signature directly on the computer, including without connecting to the Internet and accessing third-party services.

According to V. Basko, over the entire period of operation of the republican certification center, more than 3.3 million certificates of electronic digital signature were issued. Currently, EDS funds are issued for more than 630 thousand ID cards.

In the normal period, about 1.5 thousand certificates are issued daily, and during the reporting periods their number reaches almost 3 thousand.
