The regional prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit against an unscrupulous contractor in the Gatchina district, and the court ruled to recover more than 1.5 million rubles from him. This was reported in the press service of the Prosecutor’s office of the Leningrad region.
The Gatchina city prosecutor's office conducted an inspection, as a result of which it turned out that in September 2024, the MKU "Construction Department of the Gatchina municipal district" concluded a municipal contract with a contractor for the construction of a pedestrian path along Officerska Street.
The amount of the contract exceeded 2.8 million rubles, but the contractor did not fulfill its obligations on time, and the customer terminated the contract. The administration signed a new contract with Transkom-Gatchina LLC to complete the project. The amount of the contract exceeded 4.6 million rubles.
“Additional budget costs for dismantling poorly executed elements and the difference in the price of work formed the basis of the claim,” the prosecutor’s office explained.
The arbitration court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region decided to recover from the contractor almost 1.9 million rubles for late performance of improvement works in Gatchina.
