The dead star and Saturn observed by Pskov at the stadium “Electron”

Residents of Pskov were able to admire the heavenly bodies at the Electron stadium – an astronomical event was held in the city within the framework of the project “Heaven Calls”. This is reported by the correspondent of “MK in Pskov”.

Dozens of citizens became participants in the event: with the help of a smart telescope, everyone viewed the cloud of a burned star - the image was broadcast directly to the tablet. In addition, guests of the event observed Saturn: its rings were clearly visible in the 300 mm telescope.

According to Vladimir Kolpakov, the Sky Calls project is being implemented with the support of the Pskov Administration, the Directorate of Sports Facilities, AstroPskov, the Pskov Planetarium and the Young Technician Center. One of the main goals is to popularize astronomy and interest children and adults in science.

The Star Class project, which is being developed with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund, played an important role in this: it created a large 300 mm telescope. Also, the Pskov Planetarium now has a smart telescope - it allows you to immediately display the image on your phone or tablet and visually show viewers space objects. The organizers hope that such meetings will inspire some of the children to seriously get carried away with space and in the future connect their lives with science.
