“By showing our unity today, we are protecting our children and grandchildren tomorrow.” – Alexander Bagel
Showing our unity today, we protect tomorrow our children and grandchildren, because our example is the young generation.

By demonstrating our unity today, we are protecting our children and grandchildren tomorrow, as our young generation learns to live in a sovereign country. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly on regional policy and local self-government Alexander Bagel at the opening of the fifth session of the Council of the Republic of the eighth convocation on September 15 and explained the importance of the Day of national unity, the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti”.
- I come from Western Belarus. Belarusians, Poles and other peoples have always lived there together. The people of these territories received the unification in 1939. They fought and died for this day. National Unity Day today shows us the need to feel the connection of times and generations. In Belarus, people live and work for the sake of future generations to grow together, be united, preserve our strength, Bagel explained.
According to him, young people today are most concerned about issues of employment and establishment of life. The draft laws considered in the Council of the Republic will largely be aimed at improving conditions and educating the younger generation.
- We are also constantly working to improve the level and quality of life in rural areas, in particular, this is aimed at the development of agro-towns. There is already evidence that living standards in urban and rural areas are levelling across the country. We will continue to work on this so that young people will stay in rural areas and work at home, Bagel said.
