Police have detected a new type of telephone fraud, the victims of which may be residents of the region. Attackers call citizens, posing as employees of the management company, and report the urgent need to replace intercom equipment.
How the scheme works:
Then fake law enforcement or intelligence officers join the conversation. Under the pretext of investigating the financing of terrorism or the threat to the safety of funds, they persuade to transfer the money to a “safe account”.
The result of such a multi-stage attack is a complete loss of the victims’ savings. Police urge residents to be vigilant and not engage in dialogue with unknown subscribers.
