Today, October 24, trade union workers and the leadership of the Grodno region joined the republican action “Give the forest a new zhyzzo”. They performed fruitful work on the territory of the Lida forestry farm in the Voronov district, writes sb.by.

The work unfolded here not by chance: in the Grodno region, windbreaks and storm fronts damaged 1,785 hectares of forest. Of these, 453 hectares fall on the territory of the Lida forestry farm, which this year suffered the most not only in the region, but also in the republic.
Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Yuri Karaev noted how important it is to unite in such difficult periods:
- Elements this year raged, but together we will do a great job for our country – to restore our natural wealth. The help of labor troops of about 250 people will allow you to quickly cope with an important task and even exceed the plan. It’s great to come together for a common purpose. Belarus is one of the few countries that we can be proud of, which not only cut down forests, but restores them and reproduces them even more.

Forest crops were planted with a closed root system according to the scheme of mixing on the territory of more than 10 hectares. It's eating, pine, birch. It was to work on 100 rows about a kilometer long each.
As the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus Yuri Senko said, specialists and activists of the FPB are working today not only in Grodno region:
- Today, trade union workers work in all areas of the country. Our employees came to Voronov district not only from Grodno, but also from Minsk. We work in areas where our assistance is needed. The weather turned out to be beautiful for work, the soil is moist, which, according to experts, will allow seedlings to take root better.

- While I was traveling from Minsk, I realized even more that we are working for the future. Today, this is a bare piece of land, and in a few years, when our children have grown up, they will be able to visit this place and see the real beauty.

- I control the correctness of planting seedlings, so that in the spring, when we make technical acceptance, there is a high percentage of survival of forest crops.

It was nice to catch the young people: representatives of the International University of MITSO got up at 5 am to get here from Minsk. Four-year-old Danila Polyansky shared his impressions:
- I am so used to the metropolitan life, where it is always comfortable, that such trips for me are the maximum unloading and new emotions. It will never hurt to work with city guys like us, the participant smiles. This gives a boost of vigor for the next working week. And to do this for the good of our native land, bringing such benefits to our forests with simple work, is even more pleasant.

- Working in nature and surrounded by so many people is a pleasure for me, says Ulyana. Milana really wanted to participate in the action, but I am only for accustoming the younger generation to good deeds. I show her the technique, she takes the seedlings, waits for me to prepare the soil with the tool, and deftly plants them in the ground. Our mood is just wonderful, ready to spend the whole day in the fresh air.

- Who, if not us, can build a new one on a ruined site? And this is not just about the forest. I want to come here after some time to see the result of their efforts.
