After liberation from the colonies, two foreigners were expelled from Mordovia

In Mordovia, two former prisoners were sent home after serving their sentences. They were not allowed to stay in Russia because of the nature of the crimes committed.

The men, born in 1983 and 1994, were serving sentences for serious bodily harm and illegal drug transactions. Depending on the crime, each spent three and a half to four years in prison.

After the release, the authorities recognized the continued stay of foreigners in the country undesirable. Before the deportation, the men were placed in a special temporary detention center.

On October 15, they were taken out of Russia through Kazan airport. After crossing the border, both were banned from entering the country.
