Benefits at the birth of a child in 2027 may exceed 30 thousand rubles

In Russia, from February 1, 2027, a one-time allowance at the birth of a child can grow to 30,385 rubles. It is expected that the payment will be indexed by 6.8%, and the increase will be almost two thousand rubles. This forecast was voiced by associate professor of the Financial University under the government of the Russian Federation Igor Balynin.

According to the expert, now the size of a one-time payment is 28,450 rubles 45 kopecks. This amount is valid from 1 February 2026. Before the previous indexation, parents received 26,941 rubles 71 kopecks.

Next year, the benefit, according to Balynin’s forecast, may increase to 30,385 rubles 8 kopecks. Thus, the amount of payment will increase by 1,934 rubles 63 kopecks, or 6.8%.

At the same time, we are talking about the expected amount of the benefit, not the final amount approved. The actual amount of payment will depend on the indexation parameters that will be set for 2027.

A one-time allowance at the birth of a child is a fixed state payment. It is given to one of the parents after the baby is born.

Unlike monthly benefits, this money is paid once. The amount of payment does not depend on whether the first child was born in the family or the next.

If two or more children appear in the family at the same time, a lump sum benefit is granted for each of them. For example, at the birth of twins, parents are entitled to two separate payments.
