In autumn, employees of the supervisory activities and preventive work department of Kingisepp district systematically carry out rounds in settlements of the region. The main task of inspectors is to inform residents about the rules of fire safety in homes and on homesteads. This was reported in the press service of the EMERCOM of the Leningrad region.
As part of their patrols, Russian Emergencies Ministry staff inform the local population about the most common causes of fires. These include malfunctions in furnace equipment and smoke ducts, defects in electrical wiring, careless fire handling and failure to comply with rules for storing flammable materials.
Emergency personnel are urging citizens not to ignore basic fire prevention measures. They call for regular inspection and maintenance of heating systems, avoiding the use of damaged electrical devices and periodically inspecting the wiring in their homes.
To increase the efficiency of conversations with citizens, inspectors distribute memos with fire safety rules and emergency numbers.
