Oleg Kozhemyako has been dismissed from the post of Governor of Primorsky Krai and appointed to the post of Deputy Prime Minister – Presidential Envoy.

Oleg Kozhemyako has been dismissed from the post of governor of the Primorsky Territory and appointed to the post of Deputy Prime Minister - Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District, a correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and published on October 22.
Oh. Kozhemyako was born in Primorsky Krai, in 2018 he became its governor. He has visited Belarus more than once, a trip to which, according to him, always leaves a pleasant impression. Such visits occurred not only during the period when O. Kozhemyako already held responsible posts in Russia, participated in the development of relations between the two countries and advocated close cooperation of the Primorsky Territory with Belarus. The statesman recalled in 2023 that he was a boy in the Gomel region in the 1970s. I came here with my parents because my relatives lived here. As a teenager, his grandmother and her parents moved from Belarus to the Far East. O. Kozhemyako drew attention to the fact that many immigrants in different waves were from the Belarusian land, so many Primorsky residents have Belarusian roots.
