Violation of housing rights of a minor left without parental care, revealed the Prosecutor’s office of the Brest region. This was reported in the information service of the Prosecutor’s office of the Brest region, writes sb.by.

In September 2024, a 16-year-old girl was enrolled on full state support in an educational institution, the head of which was appointed the girl's trustee. After studying the minor's personal file, it was established that a dwelling was assigned to her. Its area and the number of registered people indicate that there are grounds for registering those in need of improved housing conditions. However, the student was not registered as no application was made by the trustee.
According to the results of the inspection, the prosecutor's office of the Brest region made an order, pursuant to which the educational institution took measures to register the minor.
Ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of children left without parental care is one of the priority tasks of the prosecutor's office.
