The Prosecutor’s office caught Novgorod company in air pollution through 23 sources

The Novgorod environmental prosecutor's office checked how one of the local production enterprises complies with air protection rules. It turned out that the plant has 23 sources of emissions at once, but it is completely unprepared for periods of unfavorable weather, the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Novgorod region reported.

The fact is that in calm and windless days, harmful substances do not disperse, but accumulate over the territory. To avoid this, enterprises must develop special instructions and temporarily reduce the load on the atmosphere. However, the verified company simply did not have such an action plan.

The prosecutor did not limit himself to the usual regulations and appealed to the court to oblige the company to eliminate violations. The court fully sided with the supervisory authority. As a result, the plant management had to work out the necessary measures, and today the air around all 23 sources is clean.
