Archpriest Tkachev explained to Penza residents whether protection in marriage is permissible

Archpriest Andrei Tkachev spoke about whether Orthodox spouses can use condoms or other ways to protect themselves from pregnancy. This is written by the Zen channel “Look into yourself”.

According to the priest, a husband and wife should not be tormented by guilt just because they remain intimacy in marriage and do not plan to conceive. Analyzing a specific situation in which the wife is not ready for the birth of children, he noted that it is important for the husband to take into account her position and not turn family life into a source of constant conflicts.

Tkachev stressed that in this case, a man does not need to repent of the same confession over and over again. Confession, according to the priest, should concern primarily with real sins, and not endless self-condemnation because of the circumstances of married life. He also urged her husband to cherish relations with his wife, to show love and care for her, not forgetting about prayer and spiritual life.
