Pskov became one of the candidates for the honorary title “Youth Capital of Russia – 2027”. The city participates in the All-Russian Youth Achievement Award “Time of the Young”, which is held within the framework of the national project “Youth and Children”.
The first stage of the competition was completed: 21 cities submitted their applications, including Nalchik, Melitopol, Chita, Kirov, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Syktyvkar, Arkhangelsk, Yaroslavl, Lipetsk, Yakutsk, Genichesk, Orel, Tver, Murmansk, Ivanovo, Pskov, Vladimir, Veliky Novgorod, Vladikavkaz and Ufa. Information about this was provided by the press service of the Federal Directorate for the organization of youth forums and programs of Rosmolodezh.
According to Grigory Gurov, the status of the Youth Capital is not just an annual title, but a real opportunity to involve young people in the development of the city, support its initiatives and make the region attractive for young people from all over the country. An important feature of the competition this year is the participation of residents themselves: for the first time, publications in social networks can bring your city additional points.
To help the nominees, until October 23, you need to post a post on social networks with a photo, video or story about your hometown, its youth environment, interesting projects and opportunities for self-realization. Be sure to use the hashtags #Youth Capital2027 and #[name of your city].
The results of the first stage will be announced on October 29. The cities that will go further will prepare the Application Book: it will present the features of the youth environment, opportunities for implementing ideas, local identity, an annual program of events and partner projects. These materials will help the expert jury to fully assess the potential of each city.
Then five finalists will take part in the media project “Tour of Youth Capitals”. Each city will feature stories that will be posted on multimedia platforms and social networks, so viewers will be able to get to know the candidates before the final.
The culmination will be the popular vote – it will be held from 1 to 18 December on the portal “State Services”. Anyone who wishes can vote. And on December 19, the winner will traditionally be announced at the solemn ceremony of summing up the results of the “Time of the Young” award at the National Center “Russia”.
The strategic partner of the award is VK. Among the partners of certain nominations are the State Duma, the Federation Council, the Institute for Internet Development (IRI), ANO Dialogue, Gazprom-Media Holding, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, the Russia-Land of Opportunities platform, the Russian Society Knowledge, Dobro.rf, the Warrior Center, the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, a number of ministries, as well as VARMSU, RWB (Wildberries), Netology, Foxford, Rosselkhozbank and SuperJob.
