Pskovichka tried to sue the “Mail of Russia” compensation for the destroyed letter, but the court saw the scheme

The Pskov City Court considered the case against Russian Post JSC. The applicant demanded to recognize the violation of the legislation on postal communication, illegal destruction of postal items, as well as to recover compensation for moral damage, a fine and court costs. This “MK in Pskov” reported in the press service of the courts of the region.

The letter was sent on December 30, 2024, it was ready for delivery on January 8, 2025, then returned on March 13 and destroyed on April 25. The applicant considered that Russian Post had no right to destroy the attachment without the consent of the owner.

The court found that neither the addressee nor the sender received the correspondence in a timely manner. Applications and claims about her whereabouts for a long time, no one filed - there was no interest in the departure.

The court also analyzed the public data of the SAS “Justice” and the number of similar claims. It turned out that the applicant and other persons, including her representative, have been filing model claims against the Russian Post for several years in the courts of different regions in order to establish a formal violation and then recover compensation for non-pecuniary damage and expenses.

The court recognized the abuse of the right and missed the limitation period. The claims are denied.
