A drunken Minsk man in the midst of the conflict twice stabbed his wife in the leg

A criminal case was sent to the court against a 58-year-old previously unconvicted citizen who is accused of intentional infliction of light bodily harm, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency was told in the prosecutor's office of the Frunze district.

In mid-June 2026, the defendant had a day off, he was at home drinking. In the middle of the night, he suddenly woke up, entered his wife’s room and began to provoke a conflict. The woman, in order to scare the troublemaker, swung a rollercoaster in his direction and accidentally hit the forehead. This further angered the brawler, he grabbed a kitchen knife and twice hit their spouse in the left leg.

Minchanka called her daughter. She soon arrived and took her mother to the hospital, where she received the necessary care. According to experts, the victim suffered minor injuries on the basis of a short-term health disorder.

A criminal case against her husband was initiated by the prosecutor's office of the Frunze district in accordance with Part 5 of Art. 26 of the CPC in defense of the legitimate rights and interests of the victim, who is in a dependent position on the accused.

- He works as a watchman, previously he was not brought to criminal responsibility, Igor Zhibul, deputy prosecutor of the Frunze district, commented. He was charged with intentional infliction of slight bodily harm, which entailed a short-term health disorder, that is, with committing a crime under Article 153 of the Criminal Code. The citizen fully admitted his guilt. A preventive measure was applied against him in the form of a subscription not to leave and proper behavior.
