The story of the Hero of Russia Nikita Semochkin, prepared by a schoolgirl from Yelets Anastasia Sevryukova, was included in the book about the participants of the special military operation “For the Motherland”. A student of the 8B class of Gymnasium No. 11 became the winner of the federal project “Heroes are not born.” ZA Homeland!, the government of the Lipetsk region reported.
The award was held in the Hall of Fame of the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow. Anastasia was awarded a personal diploma and a gift copy of the collection.
Nikita Semochkin was born in Yelets and served as a company commander of the 346th Guards Special Forces Brigade. On March 16, 2024, he died near Lisichansk while performing a combat mission to evacuate and replace a group on the frontline. After being wounded, the officer helped a comrade and ordered fellow soldiers to withdraw, distracting the drone strike at himself.
In September 2024 Nikita Semochkin was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Russia. The memory of the soldier was immortalized in his hometown: in October 2025, a monument in his honor was opened in Yelets.
