Repair of Victory Park in Kirov for 35 million rubles ended only on paper
For the renewal of this public space previously voted several thousand citizens

Representatives of the Popular Front appreciated the quality and completeness of the improvement of the Victory Park, for the transformation of which 35,000,000 rubles were allocated.
According to the terms of the municipal contract, the contractor had to complete the improvement by October 21. However, the field inspection showed that the real situation in the park significantly differs from the reporting documentation.
The single portal of public procurement indicates that the work was performed in one hundred percent volume for the entire amount of the contract.
In practice, the object remained unfinished: not all stumps were removed from the territory, and the most dangerous emergency tree is still not cut down and continues to threaten the safety of vacationers.
Serious complaints at the initial stage caused and cutting green spaces. Initially, the city administration intended to demolish 72 trees, which caused active protests from local residents.
After the appeals of public activists and the intervention of Governor Alexander Sokolov, the prosecutor’s office joined the case, which confirmed the fact of the elimination of healthy plantations. At the same time, the contractor’s documents record the export of 100 stumps.
Questions from the inspectors arose to the compensation landing. The city has promised to plant 182 trees and shrubs by September, but estimates and acts do not distinguish between their species.
During the inspection, the public could count only 57 young trees protected by special structures.
The planted shrubs were so small and unprotected that only traces on the ground speak of their presence, which is why their chances of surviving the coming winter are very doubtful.
Special attention was paid to the aesthetic state of the recreation area, where new wooden small architectural forms coexist with old concrete urns.
Publicists insist that the popular urban space requires an integrated approach and bringing all elements to a single design code.
The head of the regional branch of the Popular Front Valery Cheremisinova expressed hope for an early update of information on the public procurement website.
She stressed that the regulatory authorities and residents need full transparency regarding the remaining obligations of the contractor and the exact timing of elimination of defects, after which the public will determine further actions.
