Restoration of the Vladimir Church in Vologda will be completed this year

In Vologda, the restoration of the church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God on October Street, 46b, continues for the third year. It is planned to be completed this year. Almost 90 million rubles of regional funds were allocated for the work.

During the restoration, the foundation was strengthened, the roof and facade were repaired, windows were replaced and brickwork was restored. Crosses and stars on the dome are gilded, the headboard is painted, restored and stucco.

Now specialists perform interior decoration and prepare to replace all doors. Heating at the temple is already served.

The stone church was built on a wooden site in the 18th century. It was closed in 1930. After that, the building was used for various purposes, including as a shop selling and cutting glass. The ROC object was returned in 2014 together with the bell tower.
