Rodnina spoke sharply about returning to Tutberidze Valieva

Three-time Olympic champion in figure skating and State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina commented on the return of Kamila Valieva to coach Eteri Tutberidze. In a conversation with Sport24, she admitted that she does not yet undertake to assess the prospects of this decision.

“What event? What are you making up? A girl always has a fickle character. I want to see what will happen as a result of this return, but so far I cannot say anything, Rodnina said.

Before being disqualified for anti-doping rule violations, Valieva trained in the Tutberidze group. In 2025, the figure skater began working with Svetlana Sokolovskaya.

In August, Valieva received neutral status from the International Skating Union (ISU), but in September it was withdrawn. Later, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reported that it had not received an appeal from the athlete against the ISU decision.
