Rospotrebnadzor in the Pskov region told about vaccination against influenza residents of the Velikoluka boarding school

Within the framework of the fourth stage of the Rospotrebnadzor Sanprosvet project, a meeting was held in the Velikoluka boarding school for the elderly and disabled. This “MK in Pskov” reported in the press service of the Ministry.

The chief expert of the territorial department of the Rospotrebnadzor Office for the Pskov region Nikita Andreev gave a lecture on the prevention of SARS and influenza, as well as on vaccination.

The expert explained why vaccination is especially important after 60 years. Influenza is often severe and can lead to pneumonia and exacerbation of chronic diseases. With age, the immune system becomes less active, and concomitant diseases increase the risk of severe infection.

Vaccination is one of the reliable ways to protect against influenza and its consequences. Vaccination is recommended annually before the active spread of the virus. To form an immune response, the body needs 2-3 weeks.

Residents of the region were reminded: if there are relatives over 60 years old in the family, it is worth taking care of them and reminding them of consulting a doctor and the possibility of vaccination.
