Rosprirodnadzor warned the administration of Chernyakhov district because of the dumping of wood waste

The North-Western Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor issued a warning to the administration of the Chernyakhov municipal district. This information is posted on the website of the Prosecutor General.

The reason was the appeal of a local resident. According to him, in the village of Stepnoe, on lands that are not owned by someone (unlimited state property), a site was arranged for storing wood waste - chips and logging residues.

Local authorities are responsible for such areas. By law, it is the administration that must ensure that there is no pollution and debris on these lands. However, according to the inspectors, the waste is stored where it should not be.

The department recalled that production waste is allowed to accumulate only in specially equipped places that meet sanitary standards. Inaction of the administration can lead to violation of environmental legislation.
